Exceptionally rare Jansen design. A chic modern take on a Louis XV-style low coffee table, the shaped 1.5" thick green glass top raised on beautifully cast and thickly gilt bronze acanthus-form legs. From a Maison Jansen decorated Park Ave. estate. An identical table was in the library of Jayne & Charles B. Wrightsman's Palm Beach house, a well-documented Jansen commission, illustrated in J.A. Abbott, Jansen, New York 2006, p. 291 (photo provided), as well as architectural sketches of the original design by the hand of Stephane Boudin. Related tables by Maison Jansen for another well-documented commission was sold at Christie's, A View over Eaton Square sale, 10 November 2005, lot 346, and The Collection of a Lady, Christie's King Street, 10 December 2009.

Documentation: Makers Label/Invoice Period: 1950-1979 Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Shows well. The original green glass top has a few small edge chips and light surface scratches. The bronze gilding is well well preserved with light scattered scratches.
