Jean Pascaud

French, 1903 - 1996
Jean Pascaud (1914-1996) was a French designer and decorator known for his Art Deco furniture and interior designs. He trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux and began his career as an interior designer in Paris in the 1930s. He became known for his luxurious and modernist designs, which were often characterized by clean lines, bold colors, and the use of new materials such as plastics and metal. He worked on a number of prestigious projects, including the interiors of the ocean liner SS Normandie and the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. After World War II, Pascaud continued to design furniture and interiors in a more traditional style, but his work remains an important example of mid-20th-century French design.
