Description
A Polychrome Decorated Klismos Chair in the manner of George Bridport (1738-1819).
With caned back and seat, this ‘klismos’ form chair is painted with urns, acanthus leaves, harps and other Classical decorative motifs. The top-rail depicting Greco-Roman gods. Based on a chair designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe (1764-1820) and decorated by George Bridport (1783-1819) made in Philadelphia in 1808 and now in the Kaufman Collection, National Gallery, Washington D.C. Can be ordered with custom decoration. -
