Couroc of Monterey
American
Couroc of Monterey was a company that produced a line of decorative items made of a proprietary phenolic resin material that resembled ebony wood. The company was founded in 1948 in Monterey, California, by Guthrie Sayle and Moira Wallace, who named the company after themselves. Couroc of Monterey was known for its unique designs, which often featured inlaid motifs made of natural materials such as shells, coins, and wood veneers. The company was in operation until 1996, and its products continue to be collectible today.
