It was customary for a shipyard / boat builder to build a half hull of any yacht they built. Often they would build one for the owner and another for the yard.
Large collections of half hulls can be found in famous yacht clubs around the world. The most notable in Th New York Yavht club, the Royal Thames in London and the Royal Yacht Squadren on the Isle of Wight.. These wonderful and exstancive collections have been made over many years, many of the half hulls have been donated by there owners. -
