An exceptional early 19th-century charcoal on paper drawing of Thalia, the ancient Greek Muse who presided over comedy and idyllic poetry, and the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne; the eighth-born of the nine Muses. Presented French matted in an antique giltwood frame. Sight: 19" by 13.5", measurements below are overall.
