Description
A vintage French hand-colored engraving signed 'Setter et Canard Branche' by Leon Danchin (1887-1938); Leon Danchin (1887-1938) was a French artist known for his drawings of animals, primarily sporting dogs. his works sold very well in France, Belgium, England and the United States; later in his career, Danchin moved to the French Flanders where he was an avid hunter. It was during this period that he drew many of the hunting scenes for which he is renowned; signed in pencil lower left and numbered 275/500; with original frame; Copyright by La Gravure Francaise, 41 Rue St. Georges, Paris 1935
