A pair of wooden side chairs attributed to Svend Thoresen and Torgny Roloff for Nordiska Kompaniet, Sweden. The chairs are lacquered dark brown and the backrest has a carved relief decoration in the shape of a sun.
Svend A. Thoresen was a Danish interior designer who worked for Nordiska Kompaniet in the 1930s/40s. Thoresen was the interior designer for the department store's customers with high demands. Furniture architect Torgny Roloff, who worked at the Nordiska drawing office, helped to realize Thoresen's sometimes eccentric ideas. -
