Mid-Century Pine Les Arcs Stool by Charlotte Perriand, France, c. 1960

Description
Les Arcs stools by Charlotte Perriand, France, c. 1960s.
The Les Arcs stool is a signature example of Charlotte Perriand's post-war design sensibilities, a major departure from her earlier work that favored tubular steel construction as a primary material. Its simple yet sleek design consists of a functionalist U-shaped frame, single crossbar, handsome slat, and solid pine construction. The Les Arcs stool derives its name from the eponymous ski resort in Savoie, a historic commission for celebrated architect and designer Perriand. Highly collectible, these Les Arcs stools have been refinished in a black paint.
The final image of the slideshow pictures the Les Arcs stool in-situ at one of the ski resort units in Savoie, France for which it was originally designed.
