Guillerme et Chambron Lounge Chair, Votre Maison, 1960s France
-
Description
The French designers Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990), who met while imprisoned together in East Prussia 1940s, went on to create a prolific line of well-regarded Mid-Century pieces that are functional, innovative and aesthetically beautiful. The pair, along with master cabinetmaker Émile Dariosecq, created the Paris firm Votre Maison in 1949. This chair is a classic in design, made from solid sculpted oak on three legs with seven spokes to the back. Newly upholstered in a light bouclé. France 1950s.
