Madina Tsarikaeva (1994)

From early childhood, Madina began to show interest in art, spending a lot of time in the workshop of her grandfather, the famous artist and sculptor Mairbek Tsarikaev – the member of the USSR Union of Artists.

Later, after graduating from art school, Madina was professionally engaged in photography.

From 2016-2019 she devoted herself to work in the art environment. Work in the best Moscow galleries with leading designers from France, Portugal, the USA, Japan and Russia played a crucial role for her in shaping a new vision for collectible design objects.

Since 2021, she has become an important part of the manner&matter team, creating the first online platform for Russian collectible design, fine art, crafts and local productions.

Gallery experience and sustained exposure to a creative environment prompted Madina to create her first collection of furniture.

In 2022, she signed a contract with the Heritage Gallery for the production of a series of tables made of marble and travertine. She also designed a lamp for the main office of the Dior fashion house, which can be seen in the Dior store in GUM.

Currently, Madina continues to actively work on design objects, mastering various directions.

“Over the past 6 years, while studying design in all its manifestations, I’ve focused my attention on object design. In a world where everything is fleeting, it is important to surround yourself with beauty.

My first steps as a furniture designer started several years ago and that time it was more like a hobby. Soon I’ve become completely consumed with this job and eventually it has grown into a big fascinating business,

The birth of an object is absolutely amazing: first you design it on paper, then you put it into a material and finally form it. This process contains miracle, it is creativity.

In my objects I mainly use natural materials. The place I come from is surrounded by mountains that’s probably why I favor working with stone. Stone for me is an association with something majestic, with strength and steadfastness. A piece of stone in any interior is an accent thing, for sure.”
