Description
A black and white street photograph by Vivian Maier (American, 1926-2009). Entitled "Chicago, IL 1954", the print is a selenium-toned gelatin silver print, printed in 2014.
The image size is 12" x 12", and it is presented in a white mat and wood frame that measures 22.5: x 23". The back of the frame is labeled and signed by John Maloof, numbered 7 from the edition of 15. There is also a provenance label from Howard Greenberg Gallery with all the details. Both labels are shown in the picture.
Vivian Maier took photos anonymously and obsessively throughout her life. Only toward the very end of her life, due to poverty, her films were discovered by accident and made known to the public. Her street life pictures are now considered great work of art and documentary of American life in the 20th century. -
