18th Century Hand Colored Botanical Regnault Engraving "La Morelle Grimpante"

An 18th Century Hand Colored Botanical Engraving by Genevive de Nangis-Regnault (1746-1802) entitled "La Morelle Grimpante ou Vigne de Judee Solanum Delcamara Angl. Bitter Sweet. Allem Steingender" (Bittersweet Nightshade) from "La Botanique mise a la portée de tout le Monde ou collection des Plantes d'usage dans la Medecine, dans les Alimens et dans les Arts" (Botany Put Within the Reach of Everyone), published by the artist's husband Nicolas François Regnault (1746-1810) in Paris in 1774.

The engraving is printed on laid paper with a large oval decorative watermark and a second watermark consisting of letters. It is presented in a cream color French mat highlighted by a marbled green band. There is a small crease in the left upper margin and a printing crease in the right upper region, but it is otherwise in excellent condition. The mat measures 19.5" x 14.88" and the sheet measures 17.75" x 13.5".
