Large Set of Ten Baker Black & Gold Mahogany Dining Chairs, circa 1950
-
Description
Attributed to designer Michael Taylor, this large set of ten Baker Asian inspired chinoiserie dining chairs is the only one of its kind available, globally. These unique dining chairs were completely restored from top to bottom. Mahogany frames were stained in a dark satin black to allow for appreciation of the rich mahogany grain. The armchairs are stately. Gilded Asian chinoiserie back and arm rest details add an air of sophisticated elegance and bring attention to the chairs' most unique features. A luxuriously wide and comfortable Billy Haines style biscuit tufted seat cushion, freshly reupholstered in raw golden silk is almost too beautiful to sit on, but you will. And you'll love them.
