Description
APPLETON, G[EORGE] WEBB.
Frozen Hearts.
A Romance.
Stock Code 100728
London, Samuel Tinsley & Co., 1878
£1,350
An excellent three-decker first edition of this Hubin-listed Victorian novel. This work would probably be best classified as a mystery novel, with its fair share of crime detection courtesy of the story's primary protagonist, the Vicomte d'Harmontal. Exceptionally rare in such condition.
Description
First edition, first impression; 3 vols, 8vo; a few leaves in vols I & III with some marginal tears and chips from careless opening, vol .III title browned but overall internally very good; publisher's blind-tooled brown cloth, lettered in gilt to spines, a little minor rubbing to extremities but overall a very good, sharp set.
Bibliography
Not in Sadleir; Hubin, p.11, listed as of undetermined status
