French Sculptured Gilt Bronze Box by Line Vautrin
-
Description
An oval shape poudrier gilt bronze box by Parisian art jeweler Line Vautrin (1913-1997) circa 1950. The name of this lovely box is called "two pigeons loved each other tenderly". Graphically the artist created a minimalistic image of two kissing doves with just a few effective strokes. The box finished in a blond bronze color and stamped "Line Vautrin" on the bottom. Inside the box, the mirror still remains and also a cute note from Line Vautrin that reads "si cette glace se casse ne soyes pas inquiete Vous N'surez pas sept ans de malheur Croyes en Line Vautirn". The box comes with its original storage box in embossed skin which is quite worn.
The measurement shows the size of the bronze box only. The size of the leather box is slightly larger.
