Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Impressionist Female Nude on Bronze 1960s (Signed)
-
Description
One-of-a-kind Impressionist still life with seated female nude, polychrome enamels hand-painted on curved bronze panel, by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on bottom right corner). This work is a tour de force of artisanship. The panel itself is seamlessly welded into a 3 dimensional surface on 2 different curves. The bronze is brazed, etched and textured to give it depth and then hand-painted with enamels. This work is remarkable.
Provenance: Purchased from the Collection of Kelvin LaVerne -
