Description
Brown Westhead Moore and Co Majolica centrepiece vase which features a recumbent lioness with two lion cubs, laying on a bed of leaves. Modelled by famous sculptor Mark V. Marshall whilst he was employed at the BWM factory. Colouration: blue, green, light brown, are predominant. Bears signature, 'MVM' and a pattern number, '30'. N.B. by design, the vase receptacle is hollow and goes through the piece, rather than being an enclosed container.

KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage line to the front of the base; inconspicuous over glazed shrinkage lines to the side, more visible to the underside.
