Clérice Frères,
French
Clérice Frères (Clérice Brothers) was a French printing and publishing firm active in the late 19th century. The firm was founded by three brothers, Paul, Jules, and Georges Clérice, in Marseille, France, in 1872.
Clérice Frères specialized in producing high-quality color lithographs, including advertising posters, prints, and postcards. They were known for their use of bright, bold colors and innovative printing techniques, which helped to establish the popularity of the Art Nouveau style.
Clérice Frères became one of the leading poster printers of the Belle Époque period, producing work for a variety of clients including theaters, circuses, and consumer goods manufacturers. Some of their most famous works include posters advertising the Moulin Rouge and other Parisian cabarets, as well as images of exotic locales and beautiful women.
The firm continued to produce prints and posters until the early 20th century, and their work remains highly collectible and sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of vintage advertising art
