Description
This beautiful Mid-Century Modern dry bar/ cabinet was realized by the illustrious American designer Gilbert Rohde, circa 1943. It features a volumetric rectangular body in bookmatched acacia with two sliding doors and a black lacquer inset base. The doors offer two circular concave pulls with amorphic concentric detailing that represent iconic hardware on Rohde's pieces. The piece is dated to the early forties by this hardware which were created in acacia after the metals that were previously used to fabricate them were diverted to the war efforts. The piece offers a central shelf on the inside, offering a wealth of storage possiblities, and has been fully restored on the inside. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful attention to detailing, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly restored to mint condition.
