Description
Georgian Woolwork Embroidery of Dog & Cat. The piece is worked in tent stitch, using silk and wool thread. Colours black, green, white, silver and brown. Subject depicts an animated dog and cat in a country landscape, with a tree in the background. The dog looking to play, the cat cowering away. Framed in an old, possibly original maple veneer frame with glass. Mounting: The embroidery is stretched over a wooden board. Frame backed with brown paper and sealed with tape.. Dimensions exclude the frame and slip.
