Angelo Lelli for Arredoluce Italy Brass Easel Lamp with Floor Switch, 1950s
-
Description
Angelo Lelli's Easel lamp is one of his most notable designs. Introduced in 1952, the Easel lamp was inspired by the form of an artist's easel and was designed to be a functional and adjustable task lamp.
The lamp features a telescoping arm that allows the lamp head to be positioned at different heights and angles. The lamp head itself is made of a cone-shaped metal shade with a perforated diffuser that gives off a soft, Directional light. The lamp is supported by a sturdy, tripod base that gives it stability and a sculptural presence.
The Easel lamp was ahead of its time and showcased Lelli's innovative use of materials and engineering. It was a popular choice for artists, designers, and architects who appreciated its modernist aesthetic and functional design.
Today, the Easel lamp is highly coveted by collectors and design enthusiasts alike and is considered a Classic example of Mid-Century Modern lighting design.
This original easel lamp has its original Arredoluce tags on the underside as well as its original floor switch.
