Rendered with with expressive thick textured layers, the painting depicts a seated nude female with long black hair facing against a dark brown / red background.

About the artist :
Known for luminescent seascape painting on linen and canvas, Edward Barton is entirely self-taught as an artist. He was born on June 24, 1926 in New York, and made his home in California.
He was a member of the American Institute of Fine Arts, California and listed in American Artists of Renown. Edward Barton died on January 14, 2012, in Houston, TX .
