Bound in full green morocco with the covers displaying ornate gilt-tooled and red inlaid details forming floral borders, corner illustrations, and a central crest. The spines display raised bands, panel details, and label lettering, all gilt-tooled and in red inlay. All of the edges are gilded with gilt-tooled dentelles and marbled endpapers. Illustrated by various artists and engraved by R. Paterson. Published by William P. Nimmo in Edinburgh, 1868.
