This refined pair of Art Deco Molded and Frosted Glass Sconces originate from France, Circa 1930. They feature subtle frames in nickel that house shades in the form of trainagular prisms. The frosted glass serves to diffuse light with an alluring textural quality, along with a stunning stylized cubist motif of flowers and what appear to be leaves or abstracted thorns overlapping and jutting confidently across the surface. Surely an exciting visual experience within the detail of these subtle and inviting sconces. The top and bottom edge of the shades have undulating lines and linear cubist detailing, unifying the top and bottom edges while framing the floral motif. These sconces will style well in a wide array of interiors and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary design. Newly rewired for American Standards, they are in excellent vintage condition.
