Description
The iconic 'Canada' lounge chair, model P110 designed by Osvaldo Borsani and made by Tecno, Italy, 1965.
The 'Canada' chair is constructed with two molded walnut side panels and connected with two bentwood cross bars, which holds the frame in balance. The original leather is a rich chocolate brown with a fantastic patina and the recognizable large round buttons. This specific version is made of beautifully grained walnut. This is considered the finest version of the 'Canada' chair which exists through several different variations and editions. With wonderful proportions and designed by one of the most important Italian designers of his era.
The 'Canada' seating series was developed from some initial sketches by Valeria Borsani and Marco Fantoni while they were still young university students. Later, when Osvaldo Borsani saw these designs, he invited the budding designers to develop their design. However, after they made a few uncertain attempts, Osvaldo Borsani took the project on and completely reworked it to make it his own. That is the 'Canada' chair how we know it today.
Designed by Osvaldo Borsani and made by Tecno, Italy, 1965.
Size: 31 3/4" high x 14" seat height x 33" wide x 36" deep
