While formally trained at prestigious institutions like Yale School of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, and Harvard School of Architecture, Atticus's art maintains a connection to his familial roots and folk art traditions.
 
Atticus's artworks have graced the walls of esteemed national institutions, including The Carnegie Museum of Art, The Mattress Factory, and The Westmoreland Museum of American Art. Notably, he was honored as the Artist of the Year by the Pittsburgh Center For the Arts in 2018.
