Gothic Revival English Desk of Bleached Oak with Linenfold Motifs, circa 1830
-
Description
An English bleached oak Gothic Revival desk with linenfold motifs from the first half of the 19th century. This English desk features a rectangular top over three drawers and two side cabinets. The late Gothic influence, particularly praised during England's Regency era, is unmistakable in the treatment of the three drawers with their delicate lace-like carvings, as well as the linenfold low-reliefs, present on the doors and sides. Perfectly conceived, this desk will allow the sitter to comfortably take their place under the central drawer, in which papers, pens and other documents can be stored. The two smaller cabinets on each side will allow perfect organization. With its clean lines and graceful carved décor, this English bleached oak desk, circa 1830 will be a wonderful addition to any home, office or home office.
