Rectangular Coffee Table Veneered In Rosewood, Italy 1960's
-
Description
Rectangular coffee table veneered in rosewood. At the first glance we see a lightness created by the clean lines of the frame. And the elongated rectangular shape creates an elegance as we know and maybe expect from Italian vintage furniture from the sixties. It is a no-nonsense design that looks simple and at the same time is made with an eye for detail. The four cylindrical legs are wider at the base and then become slimmer upwards. About a quarter of the way down the leg, the lower beams of the frame, which seem to float just above the floor, are anchored. An accompanying storage compartment is placed on top of the beams and is open on both sides. The top leaf shows a powerful appearance due to the rosewood veneer showing a calm drawing with a warm glow. Corners of the top have a notch that follows the shape of the leg, allowing a small view through. It all adds to the airy elegance of this item. The condition is good with slight discolouration on the surface and small scratches on the frame. Nothing out of the ordinary for a beautiful object of this age.
