Frank Anderson

American, 1844 - 1891
Frank Anderson was a well-known Hudson River painter in the late nineteenth century. Anderson excelled in the poetic grammar of luminism and endowed his paintings with a resonant quietude. Although he was shy about taking part in public events, he frequently exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the National Academy of Design. His work is now featured in the Hudson River Museum and the Adirondack Museum
