This is a very large and impressive vision of the Yosemite valley with an eye-catching view of the spray of Yosemite Falls that makes a very dramatic and striking visual statement. This quintessential California scene also includes a figure of a fisherman on the riverbank that adds additional interest to the composition and gives us a real sense of the grand scale of this scene. The granite walls tower above us and the tall, stately redwood trees rise up to dizzying heights. This work is presented in an elaborate, original late 19th century style frame.
