Case Attributed to George Dyer
Manheim, Pennsylvania Circa 1810

Primary Wood: Cherry, Walnut Veneer
Secondary Woods: Tulip Poplar, Yellow Pine, Maple

Height: 96 1/4 inches
Width: 19 3/4 inches
Depth: 10 inches

The backboards are arranged in a stacked horizontal fashion as seen in clocks from central New Jersey, Delaware and Central Pennsylvania.

Reference: A very similar clock in a nearly identical case is in the Hershey Museum Collection, see Keeping Time: Lancaster County Tall Clocks, entry 15.

The George Dyer attribution is based on a signed tall chest in the collection of The Philadelphia Museum of Art. In particular, the eagle inlay is very similar on the two pieces.
