Designed in the late 1960s by Milo Baughman, this table was made by Thayer Coggin. Since then, this design has been copied and thousands of contemporary versions have been produced. This is thanks to the widespread fame of Baughman and others like Paul Evans who is recognized for his exceptional work with chrome and burl in this angular style. This, however, is the real deal. And as one would expect of Thayer Coggin, the quality is unmistakably great. The wood on the top was chosen for its grain, and then placed in a parquetry style pattern that falls over the edges. This top is extendable from a large 78" to an enormous 122.25" with both leaves in use. This is set on two imposing and handsome chrome pillars. Also notice the small skirt of chrome underneath the top, allowing for a more refined look. Thanks to some clever engineering, the legs are able to stay stationary during the extending process, making it easy for two people to do the job.

The top of the table, including the leaves, will be refinished upon purchase. We have decades of experience restoring and refinishing this era of furniture, which you can see on our storefront. This process includes stripping the top of any old finish by hand-sanding, then application of new finish, followed by a protective clear coat that also improves clarity into the grain. The chrome on the base is in great condition with no significant flaws. You will love this table in your home.
