Description
Giacometti Style, Mid-Century Modern, Console Table, Iron, Glass, Dog, Horse and Tree of Life Motif
A stunning wrought iron console with a thick glass top in fine condition. Its clean, simple lines are undeniably modern in design and contrast with the prehistoric looking, stick-like horse and hound figures gazing at trees and populating the table’s front stretcher. Although unsigned, this unique piece was certainly custom made for a client of wealth and importance.
The tree of life is a symbol of a fresh start in life and the hound, which was the first domesticated animal, is symbolic of loyalty, vigilance and protection. The horse is a universal symbol of freedom without restraint, travel, movement and desire.
