-
Description
French Baroque tapestry fragment depicting a scene from Greek mythology, Poseidon and Amphitrite, circa 1690. Attributed to Isaac Moillon, Paris (1614-1673). Isaac Moillon was one of Louis XIV's painters and produced a number of cartoons for the tapestry industry in Aubusson, which was under Royal patronage. There is natural wear, yet, despite its age, this beautiful tapestry is still quite vibrant.
