Incredibly rare Icon on Oak board dating to the 17th century and depicting Saint Matrona (Agia Matrona), this Icon was originally from Chios in Greece and was discovered in Vatopedi Monastery.
Matrona Dmitrievna Nikonova is a canonized saint of the Russian Orthodox Church who is said to have had the gifts of prophecy, spiritual vision, and healing from early childhood
Historic signs of wear, hanging loop to the rear.
