Description
Julius Shulman: Palm Springs - Michael Stern & Alan Hess - 1st Edition, New York, 2008
£270.00
A Rizzoli publication, 1st edition, New York, 2008. Hardback with English text.
“His work will survive me. Film is stronger and good glossy prints are easier to ship than brute concrete, stainless steel, or even ideas." - Richard Neutra.
This is a monograph from the godfather of architectural photography; much of Shulman’s oeuvre is based on Californian mid-century modern houses, and this volume presents the much-coveted masterpieces. Images range from Richard Neutra’s Kaufmann House, to the Sinatra House, to John Launtner’s house for Bob Hope. It includes images culled from Shulman’s personal collection, many of which have never met the eyes of the public.
