Tessa Grundon
British, 1962
Tessa Grundon is a British-born, New York–based visual artist whose work explores the relationship between landscape, memory, and ecology. Through the use of natural materials like mud, beeswax, charcoal, and found objects—often sourced directly from the sites she studies—she creates layered monoprints and mixed-media pieces that reflect the physical and emotional imprint of place.
Her practice is rooted in environmental observation, often developed during residencies and fieldwork near coastlines and urban shorelines. Series such as “Residuum” and “Plastic Tides” draw attention to ecological fragility and our connection to the land, transforming environmental residue into poetic visual forms. Grundon has exhibited internationally and is represented by Arco Gallery, with her work featured at major art fairs in New York, Miami, and beyond.
