Alfredo Aya's Nocturno 1 is a 35 x 15 inch abstract oil painting on canvas. The main colors are different shades of green, with the delicacy of pastel colors. The painting has the soft luminosity of the light coming in through stained glass windows, when the sun rays are mitigated by the colored glass.

Aya was born in Paris in 1954 and after studying in Paris and Switzerland he moved to Colombia in his late teens. He lives and works in Bogota'.
He is known for his canvases where the colors of his beloved Colombian countryside give birth to magical abstract landscapes of a unique poetry. Blue oceans, tropical flowers, palm trees are the foundation of subtle compositions of pastel blues, green, yellow and purple.
