Andy Warhol and Salvador DalÍ had previous dinners together. Dalí used to invite younger artists all the time. But what made this dinner at the Metropolitan Club quite unique was that it brought together Andy Warhol, Candice Bergen and Salvador Dalí. Andy had his tape recorder on his lap throughout the evening and Dalí was the life of the party, charming with his animated gestures and using his cane as a prop.

THE WARHOL WONDER
Being on the masthead of Interview meant the world to me, and the thrill of capturing its creator, Andy Warhol, with my cameras became something of an obsession for me, not only because of who he was, but because of the milieu he was a part of. I worked hard to keep track of him, because wherever he went became a photographic adventure for me. It meant stepping out, and inside his scene, and the people I encountered allowed me to create many magical moments and memories. Oh, what people watching!
