This Tiffany Favrile Glass Vase is an early example of the company’s Paperweight glass, combining cased floral decoration with a lustrous iridescent finish.

The interior of this large vase was fumed allowing for a rich golden-hued iridescence to shine through the layers of glass, serving as a rich background for the floral decoration.

A thick layer of clear glass encases an asymmetrical floral motif spreading on thin stems from the rim and base of the vase. Variegated green and white stems and pulled oblong leaves are interspersed with a series of large white five-petaled flowers.

This early example of original Tiffany Favrile Glass is inscribed on the underside with signature and date code.
