    Depth: 19.69" || Creator: R. Whytock & Co. || R. Whytock & Co. Of Edinburgh. Stamped. A rare pair of high Aesthetic Movement walnut ebonized and parcel gilt side chairs. An unusual pair of artistic chairs with extensive incised gilded line and floral decoration throughout, and also to the stretchers. Stamped R. Whytock & Co, Edinburgh under one seat (shown on the last images) and stamped only Edinburgh under the other chair. Both with production number 5141 stamped. The last image shows the 6 chairs I have available for sale.

    Richard Whytock was a furniture maker in Edinburgh and started in 1838 under R. Whytock & Co. Until the merge with John Reid in 1876 to form Whytock & Reid.
