Victorian Classical sterling silver centerpiece bowl. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1872. Oval with curvilinear rim and raised ends on raised foot. Open leaf-capped and mounted volute scroll end handles. Open rinceaux band with Green Man heads and applied and beaded patera rondels. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s (Crosby, Morse & Foss) stamps, date letter, and no. 101. Very good condition.
Overall dimensions: H 6 1/4 x L 18 1/2 x W 8 5/8 in. Heavy weight: 61.5 troy ounces. #CB941 -
