Pair of Georgian Rococo gilt sterling silver candlesticks, 1913. Each: Herm with muscular arms supporting elongated socket with twisted fluting and turned-down rim. Knopped columnar shaft on domed and scrolled foot. Wrap-around and entwined fruiting grapevines. Dynamic and sumptuous for a bibulous dinner. After Paul de Lamerie, the influential Huguenot silversmith.
Fully marked including maker’s stamp (Crichton Brothers) and assay stamp (London). Very good condition with deep toning.
Overall dimensions: H 14 3/4 x W 7 1/2 x D 7 1/4 in. Heavy total weight: 120 troy ounces. #CB778 -
