With its ornate crest of scrolls, rosettes, and birds, this intricately carved mirror exudes the elegance of 18th-century Swedish Baroque design. The giltwood frame, hand-carved and finished in layered gold leaf over gesso, shimmers with age and craftsmanship. Likely a 19th or early 20th-century revival piece. The antique mirror glass, with its honest patina, completes the sense of storied grandeur. Whether placed in a foyer or above a mantel, this mirror brings the romance of European decorative arts into the present.
