Ornate Baroque Style Giltwood Carved Mirror, Sweden Late 19th C.
-
Description
With its ornate crest of scrolls, rosettes, and birds, this intricately carved mirror exudes the elegance of 18th-century Swedish Baroque design. The giltwood frame, hand-carved and finished in layered gold leaf over gesso, shimmers with age and craftsmanship. Likely a 19th or early 20th-century revival piece. The antique mirror glass, with its honest patina, completes the sense of storied grandeur. Whether placed in a foyer or above a mantel, this mirror brings the romance of European decorative arts into the present. Please note this mirror looks equally beautiful with or without the top portion attached. Some losses and separations. 20"w x 38.5"h x 2"d
