English Georgian sterling silver coffee set, 1988-89. This set comprises 3 pieces: Coffeepot, creamer, and sugar.
Coffeepot: Truncated cone with hinged and domed cover; s-scroll spout with hinged cap. Capped s-scroll handle and vasiform finial stained-wood. Creamer: Baluster with capped double-scroll handle, v-spout, and domed foot. Sugar: Round bowl on domed foot; cover raised with vasiform finial. All faceted.
From the Thatcher-era return to tradition.
Fully marked including London assay stamp. Coffeepot has Richard Comyns maker’s stamp and 1988 date letter. Creamer and sugar have SJ Shrubsole maker’s and retailer’s stamps and 1989 date letter. Very good condition.
