Fully Restored Jens Risom Walnut & Brass 8-Drawer Cabinet or Dresser
-
Description
Designed by Danish design icon Jens Risom, this super rare model was made in the USA by his own company: Jens Risom Design Inc. This cabinet rarely comes up for sale, especially in this configuration. This line was made in a way that allowed many configurations via different modular parts. This model features a two-cabinet design with the rare double-wide base. The cabinets also have matching grain running across the top, showcasing the originality and quality of this piece.
This cabinet has been fully restored. This involves a multi-step process, starting with stripping of the old finish by via chemical treatments followed by hand-sanding to achieve a perfectly prepped surface. Special attention is paid to the base, which features numerous curves. Pre-stain is applied, then multiple coats of stain. Finally, a coat of tinted polyurethane is applied by high-end automotive-grade tooling, then burnishing with fine steel wool and wax. Handles have also been polished to a somewhat vintage patina look. -
