Antique Italian painting from the mid-17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a sacred art subject, Saint John the Baptist, of excellent pictorial quality. A large, impactful painting, enriched by a pleasant architectural view on the right.

This artwork has a first patina, requiring cleaning and restoration or preserving its current state, with its fascinating signs of aging. On the left, Saint John the Baptist, his hands clasped and his gaze directed at the viewer, is of great quality and striking.

The painting has undergone conservative restoration with partial re-lining (see photo), small patches, replacement of the stretcher, and restoration of color in some areas. The canvas shows several paint drops and signs of aging, but is in fair condition. Needs restoration.
