Victorian Classical sterling silver bowl. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1870. Curved and asymmetrical ovoid bowl. Raised and narrow end applied cast figure of nut-nibbling squirrel seated on volute-scroll oak branch; wide end applied horizontally with second oak branch. Knopped support and oval foot. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, date letter, and no. 465. Very good condition.
