Set of 4 Gorham Sterling Silver Open Salts in Classical Aurora Pattern

            Description
          
          Set of 4 Aurora sterling silver open salts. Made by Gorham in Providence, 1873-74. Each: Each oval with straight sides; four leafing-scroll supports. Cast frieze depicting galloping horses and chubby cherubs; stippled ground and beaded and leaf-and-dart borders. Early pieces in this pattern, which was first produced in 1870. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 1170; two have date letters F (1873) and two G (1874). Very good condition.
